Occupational Safety Card

Occupational Safety Card

Occupational Safety Card training, both online and in-person, is certified by the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health and is required at many workplaces. After successfully completing the training, participants are awarded an occupational safety card, which is valid for five years from the date of issue.

We offer our customers a mobile card directly in Kiwa’s MyCertificate app. The MyCertificate app collects the Occupational Safety Card, SPR first aid trainings, and other Kiwa trainings for individuals registered in Kiwa CompetenceAdmin into a single mobile app. Download the app here: App Store or Play Store.

Renewing the Occupational Safety Card

If you already hold a valid qualification, you can alternatively attend a 4-hour refresher course, which is conducted online.

Easily Complete the Occupational Safety Card – Safety Starts with Knowledge

The Occupational Safety Card (Työturvallisuuskortti) training provides you with the basic knowledge of key principles and practices of occupational safety. The one-day training helps to identify risks in the workplace, prevent accidents and create a safer working environment for everyone.

The content of the training corresponds to the program defined by the Finnish Centre for Occupational Safety (Työturvallisuuskeskus): Occupational Safety Course Content

After the training:

  • You will receive an electronic mobile card, valid for 5 years.
  • If you wish, you can also order the traditional green plastic card from the Finnish Centre for Occupational Safety for 20 €.
  • The card is conveniently displayed in the Kiwa MyCertificate application, which also collects Finnish Red Cross (SPR) first aid and other Kiwa training certificates for persons registered in the Kiwa CompetenceAdmin register. Download the application from the App Store or Google Play.

Why complete the Occupational Safety Card?

The training improves cooperation in the workplace, increases safety awareness, and reduces accidents and hazardous situations. Although the card is not mandatory by law (https://www.finlex.fi/fi/lainsaadanto/2002/736), it is often a prerequisite in many sectors, such as construction and industry.

Forms of Training

  • Distance Learning: Real-time training conducted via the internet, where you can ask questions and discuss with the trainer.
  • Contact Teaching: Traditional training in a physical space in different locations.
  • Tailored group training is also offered to companies.

Validity and Renewal

  • The card is valid for 5 years.
  • Renewal training is a quicker way to update the card before it expires.
  • To renew an expired card, the entire basic training must be completed again.

Renewal Training through Kiwa:

Occupational Safety Card Renewal Training – after a successful completion, you will receive a new card, which is valid for the next five years.
